A man suffering an allergic reaction after being stung by bees was flown to Masterton Hospital this afternoon.
The man was stung twice on the face shortly after midday at a house in Homewood, about 5km south of Riversale beach in the Wairarapa.
His wife administered drugs to counteract the allergic reaction before a Wairarapa ambulance crew arrived.
The man was found to be in a stable condition, and was airlifted to hospital by the Wellington-based Westpac rescue helicopter.
Helicopter crewman Colin Larsen said the man could have been in far worse condition without his wife's help.
The man was expected to be discharged from hospital later today.
