Masterton man Kerry Godfrey yesterday pleaded guilty to stabbing a man three times in the buttocks, leaving him needing care.
His victim, who is in his forties and also from Masterton, suffered non-life threatening injuries, Masterton District Court heard.
Godfrey's application followed a sentencing indication, said defence lawyer Louise Elder.
Judge Bill Hastings remanded Godfrey in custody to reappear on July 25 for sentencing.
