A 25-year-old Wairarapa man has admitted having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
In Masterton District Court last week, the man, who has interim name suppression, pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual connection with a young person.
The court heard the man began sending texts of a sexual nature to the girl which led to sex.
Judge Gerard Lynch convicted the man and warned him it was his final warning under the three-strike law. The man was remanded in custody to reappear for sentencing on April 1.
