KEY POINTS:
A High Court sentencing is being considered for a Christchurch man who has admitted sexual offending with children in New Zealand and the Philippines.
The 50-year-old man has been remanded in custody for sentencing on October 31.
Christchurch District Court Judge Graeme Noble today called for a pre-sentence report, as well as the other reports necessary for a transfer to the High Court to be considered.
The man, described as a cleaner, admitted four charges of sexually violating a boy, aged between eight and 12 years, in Christchurch, sexual conduct with a child outside New Zealand, and two charges of possessing objectionable publications.
Police say the man is a New Zealand citizen, but his interim name suppression continues. It may be reconsidered at his sentencing.
He admitted oral and anal sexual offending against one boy in Christchurch.
While in the Philippines, the man manipulated another boy to remove his clothes, lie on a bed, and pose for photographs. Other people were also in the room.
When the man's home was searched, 12 sexually explicit and objectionable digital photographs were found.
More child pornography was found on the man's computer. This included images of adult-child sex, child-child sex, male-female sex, and homosexual sex images including children who appeared to be as young as pre-school age.
The crown is to seek a court order to destroy his laptop computer, hard drive, digital camera, and all the pornographic images.
