KEY POINTS:
A Kaikoura man has pleaded guilty in Blenheim District Court to raping an English tourist last month.
The 30-year-old was remanded in custody and granted name suppression until sentencing on April 26.
The plea followed an attack on the 23-year-old tourist by the knife-wielding man in a toilet block at the A1 Motor Camp, Kaikoura, at 3am on February 23.
She underwent surgery in Christchurch Hospital after suffering a wound to her hand as she fought off her attacker.
