KEY POINTS:
A 26-year-old Auckland man today admitted kidnapping one girl and attempting to kidnap another.
Philip Michael Foss tried to shield his face from view in Auckland District Court while his lawyer Sanjay Patel entered his guilty pleas.
Crown prosecutor Deb Bell told the court after an all-night drinking binge, Foss parked near Western Springs College and attempted to pull a 17-year-old girl into his car as she walked past at 8.20am June 16.
He pointed an object, covered in a black T-shirt, towards her chest, and she screamed out.
The unmeployed Mt Albert man then grabbed her shoulder but she managed to free herself from his grip.
Miss Bell said Foss then drove away, circling the area for two hours, until he spotted his second victim, a 14-year-old girl just outside the school gates.
Foss approached the girl and put his hand over her mouth and carried her across the road to his car and drove off.
After she tried twice to get out of the car Foss apologised to the victim.
"He repeatedly apologised to her and said he'd take her where ever she wanted to go," Miss Bell said.
When he slowed down at the next intersection the girl managed to jump from the moving car.
A blanket fell out of the car at the same time and police matched semenal DNA samples to Foss.
Miss Bell said Foss later told police he "just wanted to take the girls to his friend's place for a few drinks".
He will be sentenced in Auckland District Court on December 19.
