A Dunedin businessman today admitted making secret payments totalling $755,000 to Otago District Health Board's former IT manager Michael Swann.
The High Court in Dunedin was told Robin Sew Hoy, 48, paid the money to Swann, between 2000-2006 to ensure his company, Innovative Systems Limited, provided helpdesk services to the DHB.
Sew Hoy, 48, pleaded guilty to corruption and was remanded on bail for sentencing on November 17.
Swann has denied accepting inducements from Sew Hoy and is due to stand trial in the High Court at Christchurch in March next year.
