A Tauranga tradesman accused of stealing almost $40,000 worth of goods from shops in Christchurch's red zone appeared this morning in Christchurch District Court.
Victor Jackson, 38, of Otumoetai, faces five charges of theft of more than $1000.
He was today further remanded on bail without entering pleas until his application for legal aid can be reconsidered.
Jackson will reappear in April 3, when it is expected he will enter pleas to the charges.
Police allege that between October 18 last year and January 6 this year, Jackson stole $39,238 worth of property from five shops in the CBD.
