A man accused of pointing an air gun at a bar patron was arrested last night after being found with a pistol, tomahawk and cannabis.
The 52 year-old Nelson resident was arrested after an incident at a Bridge St bar in the city.
Staff called police after reporting a man pointed a pistol at a customer.
Tasman District Police claimed officers found the offender soon after and he had a pistol, tomahawk and a tyre iron, along with cannabis.
The arrested man was scheduled to appear in Nelson District Court today charged with firearms and cannabis related offences.
