Man accused of multiple rapes named

Name suppression has been lifted for a man accused of raping four women after luring them into his van in Hamilton's CBD.

Jason Lloyd Jones of Tamahere faces nine charges including three of rape, after the four separate incidents alleged to have occurred over six months.

Yesterday the 37-year-old lost an appeal at the High Court in Hamilton to have continued name suppression. However, details surrounding his ethnicity and appearance are still suppressed.

Name suppression continues for his co-accused, a 32-year-old woman. Both will reappear in Hamilton District Court next month.
