A charge of impersonating a police officer has now been laid against Lachlan Patrick Irvine who already faces burglary, theft, and fraud charges in the Christchurch District Court.
The impersonation charge was one of two additional charges laid after 29-year-old Irvine's remand appearance yesterday on 14 charges.
The police had earlier alleged that he posed as a police officer, bank manager, and contractor to get money from elderly folk and said at his first appearance last week that up to 50 more charges could be laid.
Irvine, who is listed as being unemployed with an unknown address, has now consented to a further remand in custody without plea until November 10.
