A man was arrested in Hamilton this morning after allegedly holding a knife to a woman's throat.
Police went to a house a house in Ross Crescent in the suburb of Fairfield about 7.30am after neighbours reported a man arguing with two women.
A Waikato police spokesman said cordons were set up and the man was arrested after police called for him to surrender.
One of the women was taken to Waikato Hospital for treatment for a minor to moderate knife wound under her chin.
The spokesman said police were grateful for the quick action by neighbours, possibly avoiding a far more serious incident.
