The man accused of murdering his 21-year-old partner did not seek name suppression at a special sitting of Dunedin District Court at his Dunedin hospital beside yesterday.
Matakaua Ngaruaine Rouvi, known as Karl Rouvi, a 50-year-old freezing worker of Cook Island descent, was charged with murdering Moana Anahere Marie Aranui on Tuesday, the Otago Daily Times reported.
Rouvi was remanded in custody, by consent, to February 12.
He will remain in hospital under police guard until fit enough to be discharged.
