A 21-year-old sales representative accused of murdering a man with a crossbow has been remanded in custody until February.
Dean Christopher Pender appeared in the Christchurch District Court on the murder charge today. An earlier charge of assault was withdrawn by police.
The murder charge relates to the death of Anton Theodore Nauer, 22, who died on Sunday from a single wound to the stomach.
At Pender's first court appearance on Monday police said Mr Nauer had gone to Pender's house with two other men without authority and with "intent to commit a crime".
The two other men have been charged with aggravated burglary of the Wainoni Rd house where the incident took place.
Mr Nauer was found lying on Wainoni Rd fighting for his life at 3.30am on Sunday after allegedly being shot with a crossbow. He later died in Christchurch Hospital.
