A man charged with robbing three Auckland banks in the past week has been granted interim name suppression.
The 18-year-old man from Avondale, west of the city centre, appeared in Auckland District Court today in relation to the robberies in Newmarket, St Lukes and Mt Roskill.
Detective Sergeant Jason McIntosh, of Avondale CIB, said the accused man was granted name suppression when he appeared today. He will reappear in Auckland District Court on June 29.
The accused man faces a number of charges relating to the robbery of the National Bank in Newmarket yesterday morning, the ASB Bank in St Lukes on Saturday and the Post Shop in Dominion Road last Tuesday.
