KEY POINTS:
A Nelson investment company finance director who allegedly stole nearly $2 million from clients appeared briefly in Nelson District Court today.
Mobile Finance Centre director Warren Russell Green, 54, entered no plea on two charges of theft by misappropriation over the past eight years.
Detective Senior Sergeant Wayne McCoy said Green allegedly misappropriated $1,948,862 from 40 investors.
He was remanded on bail until April 8.
Police said $372,000 had been repaid and reparation of $1,576,000 was being sought.
