Man, 82, dies in hit and run

Tauranga police are appealing for a hit and run driver, who last night left an 82-year-old man dead, to come forward.

Senior Sergeant Ross Bielby said the incident happened on Cameron Road in central Tauranga at about 9.20pm.

Mr Bielby said the pedestrian was crossing the road when he was hit and he died at the scene.

He said police were seeking witnesses to the incident.
