A 61-year-old man charged with aggravated burglary with a weapon reappeared in court today, in relation to a violent incident in the Far North last month.
Mohi Hare, of Ngawha Springs, entered no plea when he appeared in Kaikohe District Court today.
He was remanded in custody to reappear on September 21.
His brother Sam Williams, 57, died in Auckland Hospital on August 21 from injuries received as a result of a fight with a third man at a rural address on Mangakahia Road, south of Kaikohe.
The August 11 incident was still being investigated by police, who were not commenting on details of what happened.
They have said only that the three men involved all knew each other and that the incident was the result of a long-running dispute.
