A hunter who was shot dead by a member of another hunting party in Southland yesterday has been named as local dairy farmer Adam David Hill.
Invercargill police said the 25-year-old is survived by his partner and two young children.
Mr Hill's family wish to thank the community for their ongoing support but have asked for privacy at this time.
The police investigation is ongoing.
The man had been hunting in Longwood Forest, 45km west of Invercargill, yesterday morning when he was shot in the chest.
