LynnMall has re-opened after being evacuated due to a fire in a switchboard room this morning.
Inspector Jacqueline Whittaker said the fire was in the power plant at the mall, which is in the Auckland suburb of New Lynn.
Senior fire communications officer Mau Barbara said the fire service had to wait for the power company to arrive to isolate the area where the fire was.
He said sprinkler system had helped to contain the fire.
