A security guard has been charged with assault after an altercation with a teenager in Coastlands Mall, Paraparaumu, on Saturday.
It was reported today that the 24-year-old guard was expected to appear in Porirua District Court tomorrow for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old boy.
A Coastlands spokeswoman said the incident happened on Saturday afternoon in the food court area and as far as she knew there was a lot of provocation.
"But we in no circumstances condone what has been done," she said.
