A breakdown on an Auckland motorway earlier this morning caused major traffic delays.
There had been a breakdown on the citybound side of the Northwestern motorway just before Te Atatu at around 7am, The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) tweeted this morning.

Despite the road being cleared shortly after, Auckland traffic was backed up past Hobsonville, NZTA said.
Commuters reported that traffic on the North-Western motorway had cleared by 9am.
