Traffic on State Highway 1 has been brought to a near standstill after a car crashed into a power pole south of Warkworth this morning.
The pole was leaning across the road after the impact, meaning emergency services had to briefly close the road before a stop-go system could be put in place.
A police spokeswoman said the crash happened shortly after 7am on SH1 between Valerie Close and Toovey Rd.
The driver suffered minor injuries, she said.
More than five hours after the incident traffic is still crawling along the route.
