Masterton woman Margaret McKechnie wants to hold a "Big Reunion" to celebrate people of the past and the elderly still with us who have influenced the Wairarapa community.
Martinborough born and bred Ms McKechnie, 71, wishes to honour Wairarapa seniors, "probably for the last time" with an evening of food, music and memories.
She hopes it could be "a community event for interested folk from Dannevirke to Martinborough and beyond."
Drawing on her working life as a telephone exchange operator and a nurse she wants to recognise the important part hospital staff from the old Wairarapa hospitals and post office workers played in the area.
