SQUASH New Zealand held its 2015 champion of champions event at Squash Gym, Palmerston North, over the weekend with three members from Masterton doing both their club and Wellington district proud.
Hayley Wilton, Grant Wilson and Milly France all took major placings in an event where the district champions from all over the country played for national titles in their respective grades.
Wilton was third in the women's C grade section. She lost her first game in five sets and both her second and third games in four sets. Northlander Nirelle McDonald from the Kaitaia club was the overall winner.
Wilson was third in the men's D grade division. He lost his first game in three sets, won the second by default and won the third in five sets. Winner of that title was Quade Hyde from Eastern district.
France was runner-up in the women's E grade event with a win in three sets, a loss in four sets and a win in five sets. Kaitaia also grabbed this title through Tayla McDonald.
