A child was among the injured in a serious crash in East Auckland this morning.
Police have just reopened the Whitford-Maraetai Rd five hours after a car crash that hurt four people, including one who was critically injured.
Traffic heading into Auckland, including morning commuters and students on school buses, faced huge detours travelling through Clevedon because of the road closure.
A police spokesman said two cars collided near the intersection of Trig Rd about 6.30am and four people were injured.
One person had to be freed from a vehicle. A young child was one of those hurt in the smash.
