A rubbish truck has overturned on a route to Auckland Airport, and people flying today are advised to allow extra time for their journey. The New Zealand Transport Agency said the crash occurred on the south-bound Neilson St on-ramp to Auckland's Southwestern Motorway at Onehunga.

An Auckland motorway on-ramp has reopened after a crash this morning involving an overturned rubbish truck.

The Neilson St on-ramp to Auckland's Southwestern Motorway in Onehunga was closed about 10am after the truck overturned and spilled its contents onto the road.

A police spokesman said the on-ramp was now fully open.
