Macaw that escaped from Auckland Zoo sighted near Meola Rd, Pt Chev

Auckland Zoo's missing macaw has been recovered, and is on her way back to the Zoo.

The juvenile blue and gold macaw, which is nearly fully grown, was found on Meola Road - not far from the zoo - in Pt Chevalier.

Auckland Zoo staff spent the morning tracking the macaw in the suburb, after it escaped from the zoo during a flying lesson on Thursday.
