Lymphoma cases in New Zealand have increased by 30 per cent over the past five years and are expected to keep rising. But despite the increase, New Zealanders do not know much about the fatal disease.
A survey of 501 people by the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation showed 89 per cent could not correctly identify that lymphoma was a cancer of the lymphatic system and only 2 per cent could recognise the symptoms.
