Luxury cruise ship Queen Elizabeth coming to Auckland

Luxury cruise ship Queen Elizabeth will make its maiden voyage to Auckland tomorrow.

The 90,900 tonne ocean liner from the Curnard shipping line is midway through its 103-night voyage around the world.

It is calling at the Bay of Islands today and expected to berth at Princess Wharf in Auckland around 7am tomorrow, before heading to Wellington just before midnight.

The ship holds almost 1000 crew and 2000 passengers, who have access to 10 restaurants and cafes, a two-storey library complete with leaded glass ceiling, a globe from the original Queen Elizabeth, and a games deck.
