KEY POINTS:
A skydiver who experienced a close brush with death when both his parachutes failed and he fell 1000m into a blackberry bush is now basking in the celebrity limelight.
Taupo skydiver Michael Holmes, 25, made headlines around the world after surviving the fall during a routine 4000m jump over Lake Taupo on December 13.
Both his main parachute and his back-up parachute failed, causing him to go into a spin and free-fall 1000m -- only to have his landing softened by a blackberry bush at Five Mile Bay.
He received a punctured lung and broken ankle.
Now back on his feet, albeit on crutches, Mr Holmes told the Dominion Post he had hired a celebrity public relations adviser to handle media demands.
While he has fended media inquiries from around the world, it is the footage caught on his helmet-mounted camera that has broadcasters most interested.
The footage shows his shadow rapidly approaching the ground and Mr Holmes can be heard screaming.
It is understood he has been offered £15,000 ($43,000) by a British media outlet, while the Discovery Channel and the Jay Leno Late Show in the US are two other parties said to be interested in his story.
