Grocery shopping is proving to be lucky for some Lotto buyers.
A ticket bought in Masterton won $5.5 million in last night's Lotto Powerball draw. It was bought at the New World supermarket in the Wairarapa town. The prize is made up of $5 million from Powerball and $500,000 from Lotto first division.
Three weeks ago a Lotto ticket bought at a Cambridge supermarket won the massive Powerball jackpot of $16.3 million. Last year a ticket bought at a New Plymouth supermarket won $19 million, Powerball's largest ever prize. And an $18 million Lotto win came from a ticket bought at another grocery store, the Four Square in Kaeo, in 2006.
