Lucky escape for women after car flips

Two women travellers in a Toyota Echo car escaped injury after the driver lost control of her car, which hit a bank and flipped in to a paddock near Carterton on Monday, police say.

Two young women have escaped injury after flipping their car on Kokotau Rd near Carterton.

Police said the car, a Toyota Echo, went off the road between Opuakaio and Tiffin Rds at about 3.15pm on Monday.

After coming off the road, the car hit a bank in a farmer's paddock and flipped.

Both the driver and the passenger were uninjured and outside the vehicle when police arrived. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
