A motorist has had a lucky escape when the campervan they were driving crashed after careening down a bank.
The crash happened at 10.10am today at Takaka Hill in the Tasman District when the campervan went over a bank at the intersection of Riwaka Sandy Bay and Moss roads.
Police said the driver was out of the vehicle, no one was trapped and there were no reports of injuries.
It's unclear if there were passengers in the campervan, or what nationality the driver was.
