Is Susan Holmes the luckiest All Blacks fan in the country? The company director from Birkenhead got tickets in the ballot for all but two of the ABs' possible World Cup matches - and she got tickets for those from a friend.
She hedged her bets by applying for tickets to all the games at Eden Park and all the All Black matches. She got tickets for all the pool games and possible knockout matches except the semifinals. She bought tickets for those from friends.
She spent between $8000 and $9000 but said it was a lot cheaper than watching a tournament overseas. She has been to "the odd game" at previous tournaments but our weak dollar made it expensive to travel.
"This was always going to be the cheapest World Cup that I was going to be able to attend," she said, adding that the tournament would be "one of the great experiences" for her and husband Mike.
Lucky dip for AB fan
