Family members of a man who died shortly after being found unconscious in Lower Hutt last week have gathered to pay their respects, police say.
Police launched a homicide investigation after Michael James Mulholland, 52, of Taita, was found by a friend on a driveway in Farmer Crescent near his house on Thursday night.
Friends attempted CPR, which was continued by emergency services, but he died at the scene.
Several houses on Farmers Crescent display signs of Mongrel Mob affiliation and police have confirmed to media that Mr Mulholland had Mongrel Mob connections.
Detective Inspector Darrin Thomson said a forensic examination of the driveway and Mr Mulholland's home had been completed and police would continue examining them over the next two days.
