Police are seeking witnesses to a Lower Hutt bank robbery this morning
A man entered the Queens Drive Kiwibank branch at 10.18am and handed a note to a female teller demanding money.
The teller filled a white New Zealand Post shopping bag with money, the sum of which had not been made public, Detective Sergeant Dean Simpson of Lower Hutt police said.
The offender left the bank on foot and travelled north along Queens Drive towards Waterloo Road.
He was described as a Caucasian in his mid to late 30s, about 182cm tall and of medium build.
He wore a black jacket with a zip front, blue jeans, a thick grey woollen scarf over his lower face and a dark beanie with a white logo on the front.
Police were seeking anyone who saw a man fitting that description around the Queensgate Shopping Centre and Queens Drive this morning, Mr Simpson said.
