New Zealand's greenhouse gas emissions rose less than 1 per cent between 2005 and 2006. Climate Change Minister David Parker said this was an improvement on the previous year's increase of 3 per cent.
The Ministry for the Environment inventory said the causes of increasing emissions included the expansion of dairy farming, more cars and trucks on the road and an increase in electricity demand.
