"Low-lifes" have stolen DVDs used to help calm and sooth sick injured children at Gisborne Hospital.
At least a dozen DVDs donated to children's room of the hospital's emergency department have disappeared disgusting staff and parents.
Clinical charge nurse Jane Donnelly said the children's DVDs as a crucial part of treatment.
While they did not have medical properties, the effect the DVDs had on injured and sick children was immense, "especially for the little ones," she told the Gisborne Herald.
Parent Evelyn Morten said the thieves were "low-lifes" and she appealed for the DVDs to be returned.
