Prime Minister John Key's arrival in Brisbane was a lot more low key than for the main players of the G20.
When the RNZAF Boeing carrying Key, his wife Bronagh and officials and media landed, the planes of the bigwigs lined the runway at Brisbane Airport - two apiece from Russia, China and the United States which have delegations numbering in the hundreds.
For Key's delegation of about 20 the stands set up for photographers and cameras were empty bar one lone camera. And Key was met by relatively low level dignitaries - Queensland's deputy Premier Jeff Seeny and associate defence minister Stuart Robert.
Key was treated to a motorcade and taken off for the official opening this afternoon after which he will spend hours locked in summit meetings. The afternoon ends with the G20 "family photo" - one of the very rare times New Zealand will appear in it, given its country cousin status.
Tomorrow the day will be filled with bilateral meetings and more summit sessions before Key ends his fortnight of international summits.
