Love, Actually: Hobbiton highlight

Auckland Airport is the scene of thousands of welcomes as Kiwis return to spend time with their families at Christmas. We present some of these magic moments

Where have you come from?

J-Ann: Singapore.

How long has it been since you've been home?

Steven: I was here about five months ago.

J-Ann: Two years [since the whole family has been home].

So you guys are home for Christmas?

Steven: Yea, yea.

What are the plans?

Shirley: My mum's 97, so she's very excited about seeing them all. It'll be a great Christmas for her. She had her 97th birthday in July.

J-Ann:And then we're driving down to Rotorua as well.

Shirley: We're going to Hobbiton.

What will you be doing for Christmas?

Shirley: Just the Kiwi Christmas, you know, roast lamb, and some chicken and pork and all the roast veges. And pavlova.

Georgina: Plum pie.

Shirley: The night before, I go into the kitchen and nobody comes in until I make the pavlova.

J-Ann: Except Santa. Santa's coming. Hopefully.

Where are you guys from in New Zealand?

Steven: Auckland.

J-Ann: Yep, we'll be spending Christmas in Auckland.
