Hollywood movie-makers filming in the CBD made grizzly bears of some motorists and residents yesterday as the Auckland City Council received complaints about noise and access.
Scary Movie star Anna Faris and Canadian actor Tom Cavanagh were working outside the High Court at Auckland, shooting scenes for Yogi Bear, meaning road closures for Waterloo Quadrant, Alten Rd and Parliament St from 6am to 10pm.
A council spokesman said 17 inquiries and complaints about noise, parking and access had been received. Noise complaints had been dealt with by the production company shifting work hours and street closures had been publicly notified, he said.
It's been a busy month for the crew shooting the part-live action, part-animated film which features the voices of Dan Aykroyd as Yogi and Justin Timberlake as Boo Boo.
Last month, safety kayakers who were on set while filming was under way at the Aratiatia Dam near Wairakei pulled two swimmers to safety.
The young women had been swept down the Waikato River when the control gates opened. A male friend stayed on a rock until the river dropped.
