A $250,000 Lotto windfall has allowed an Auckland woman to pay for the dental work she's always wanted.
"It sounds a bit funny, but after paying off my mortgage and bills, I would love to treat myself to fixing my teeth. They could do with a bit of an overhaul," laughs the happy winner.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought her ticket at Taumarunui New World. She had been visiting the town for a family member's birthday and popped into the store to pick up some groceries.
"I don't always buy Lotto tickets, but I had a few bonus tickets to cash in, so I thought why not?" says the winner.
The winner didn't realise she had won the quarter of a million dollar prize until another grocery trip a few weeks after the draw.
