Lotto results: $1 million won by Tauranga punter, Powerball not struck

Powerball hasn't been won tonight, but one lucky Lotto player has taken home a cool $1 million in First Division.

A massive $25 million had been up for grabs in Powerball tonight and the jackpot will roll over to $27 million on Wednesday.

Tonight's winning numbers were 3, 5, 12, 25, 28 and 40. The bonus ball was 34 and Powerball was 10.

The First Division winner bought their ticket at AJ's Lotto in Tauranga.

If someone wins Powerball on Wednesday, it will be the second time in two months punters have taken home a massive haul in Lotto.

Ten friends split $30 million on September 16 after the ticket they bought in Taupo had all six winning numbers and the Powerball number on it.

In November last year a young Dairy Flat couple who had previously struggled to buy a house won a $44m Powerball prize.
