KEY POINTS:
A Masterton woman got more than she bargained for when she turned up at the local police station to reclaim her lost wallet.
She had forgotten about the small stash of drugs she had left in there and was arrested.
A good citizen found the wallet on a roadside and handed it to police. Officers went through it looking for identification, only to discover a tinnie of cannabis inside.
Her relief at hearing the wallet had been found quickly turned to embarrassment when the drugs were mentioned.
She was charged with possession of cannabis and is to appear in court this month, the Dominion Post reported.
