Lost and stolen New Zealand passports will be reported to Interpol as part of an international initiative to enhance border security.
The daily reporting means once a passport is reported lost or stolen it can never be used again.
The initiative follows the launch of the Government's "Making Sure Your Passport is Travel Fit" brochure last year reminding people to look after and value their passport.
