A 21km-long oil or diesel spill on State Highway 2 southeast of Auckland caused chaos for drivers this morning.
Police urged motorists to take extreme care after one van rolled near Maramarua.
Transit New Zealand had put up signs to warn motorists and began cleaning up the spill that stretches from the SH1 intersection to Maramarua township, said police.
