Matamata sharemilker Fergus King showed off brute strength when he cleaned up in the wood-chopping heat of the Fieldays rural bachelor of the year competition.
The 26-year-old former Lincoln University student smashed his way through 10 blocks in just over 10 seconds, 13 seconds clear of his nearest opponent, 33-year-old Andrew Blake from New South Wales.
The winning bachelor will take home $20,000 in prizes including a $16,000 quad bike.
