Log loading at Eastland Port resumed at the weekend after the ocean surge caused by last week’s southerly abated.
The SE Cardi got alongside the wharf first on Saturday to take on logs before heading to Napier in Sunday to load further cargo.
Her place was taken by the other ship that had been out in the bay during the southerly blast – the Taihua Star.
That log boat was set to complete its consigment and sail for Napier on Tuesday.
The next cruise ship to call here this season is due on Monday next week. The Westerdam carries up to 1964 passengers.
