Local players should make a big impact at the annual Trust House Tennis Centre veteran's tennis tournament to be played in Masterton over the weekend.
A total of 130 entries have been received for the event, which will see men's and women's doubles matches played tomorrow with combined doubles on Sunday.
Two of the leading contenders for top honours in the A grade men's doubles should be the combinations of Russell Broughton and Steve Hurley, both of whom play singles at No.1 for their respective clubs in the Wairarapa regional one competition, and Bruce Day and Ally O'Neill, who have also starred at the top club level here in past years.
In the A grade women's doubles two Masterton players in Lorraine Liggins and Chris Daniell should give a strong account of themselves.
In the B grade section Wairarapa players with prospects include Lorraine Hooper, Karen Wilton, Merrilyn Bartram, Isobel Weaver, Marie Millar George Passi, Peter Hampson and Paul Rowntree.
